Utility Tunnel Compartment Edge Monitoring Access

DIN-rail industrial switches for per-compartment sensors/cameras with fiber egress—aligned with Phase-1 wall-mount ring practice.

1. Scenario

Power/ICT/water compartments need environment, security, and process points. Leagrid’s Phase-1 tunnel work used wall-mount industrial switches and fiber rings over ~6.5 km.

2. Challenges

Humidity, narrow space, limited power/maintenance windows; sparse edge nodes.

3. Architecture

Wall/DIN-mount 2FE1FX-I for local terminals + fiber uplink; 8GE managed nodes at portals/crossings join the ring.

4. Recommended Leagrid LGS2000 products

  • LGS2000-2FE1FX-I: Unmanaged DIN-rail industrial switch: 2×FE copper + 1×FE fiber, IP40, −40–85°C, EMC Level 4—edge access with fiber uplink in cabinets.
  • LGS2000-8GE2GF-M: Managed Gigabit industrial switch: 8×GE copper + 2×GE SFP; VLAN/QoS/ring redundancy for intersection and shop-floor aggregation.

5. Deployment notes

Meet tunnel IP/corrosion specs; label tray fiber; enroll edge nodes in NMS topology.
